Little known fact: the Color of the Month program helped saved the AF1. While a reissue was uncertain in the shoe's beginning, sports shops in Baltimore saw them selling like hotcakes and knew the AF1's place in street-fashion and culture, and demanded custom colorways in large volume to sell from their storefronts.
