Area 51

In 1940 Fred Perry, a world famous tennis player, was approached by Tibby Wegner, an Austrian footballer, who had just invented an antiperspirant device. Perry added a few modifications and together they created the first ever sweatband. Inspired by the prosperity of their first product Perry went on to launch his first line of T-shirts at the 1952 Wimbledon. With immediate success Fred Perry quickly became a fashion household name and symbol of Mod Culture with his iconic laurel wreath.
